Graceful Blue Bird Nail Art Decoration

Today I have a manicure to share with you inspired by the pretty blue bird nail art decoration sent to me by KKCenterHK. I'm also going to lump this manicure in with the untried challenge I'm slowly tackling.

Here are the pretty nail art decorations I chose to review. I love them. The detail is perfect and are exactly like they are pictured on the website.

Taking the nail art out of the package and observing the white paper backing, I thought these decorations might be self adhesive. Scratching a little at the back I pulled off some of the bird pattern of one, and quickly discovered they are not self adhesive. Luckily the small scratch was hidden by my white base polish.

I knew right away I wanted to use this nail decoration for my accent nail. I looked over my blues and thought the gorgeous Cerulean by LVX would be a perfect pairing! Cerulean just happened to be an untried, and qualified as a "cool" color, which made this manicure a double win for me. To jazz it up a little I used stripping tape along with my go to Snow Me White from Sinful Colors to do stripes with Cerulean. I really like the way this came out.

From above I LOVE the nail art decoration. But from the side, this manicure makes me sad. Its such a huge oval bubble on my nail that I played with it constantly, until I just popped it off. As pretty as these oval nail decorations are, for me they are just too big to be used in my nail art. However, I plan on keeping these adorable nail decorations and applying them to something else. (I'm just not sure what)

What do you think of this manicure? Do you think these blue bird nail decorations are too big? Is there such a thing as too big when it comes to nail art? Do you own any LVX polishes?

Circle Glitter from KKCenterHK

A few weeks back I was very excited to receive an email from KKCenterHK. They asked if I would be interested in reviewing some of their products. I of course said yes and could not wait for the items to arrive to do my first real review.

I picked KKCenterHK's pretty sky blue circle glitter. This glitter is made of plastic and is cut into 2.55mm circles. The light blue colors is vibrant and reflects light beautifully. The jar holds hundreds of these beautiful circle glitters pieces.

Of course I wanted to use my new glitter on my nails so this is the nail design I came up with.

Starting with white nail polish I then added the circle glitter to my nails in a simple polka dot pattern. Then painted pretty blue flowers as accents to the the circle glitter.

The glitter from KKCenterHK is vibrant, easy to use and exactly what was pictured on their website. KKCenterHK is overseas but was able to ship the items quickly. The glitter was well packaged, so it arrived safely. The only thing I would change about this glitter is that I wish it was a little smaller. My nails are on the smaller side and I think with smaller glitter I would be able to do a more detailed designs with the circle glitter. Any girl with wider or longer nails should have no problem with this size of this glitter.

Untried Polish Challenge

A while back I stumbled upon a neat polish challenge while day dreaming on Pinterest. I quickly pinned it knowing it would be the perfect thing to kick start me into using the many untried polishes in my stash. I present to you the Untried Polish Challenge from Jonochi at Just Add Polish.

justaddpolish.com

I started with "Three Colors". Not sure why I picked to do that one first but these are the three untried colors I used.

Big Yellow Taxi by Ciaté is from their Advent Calendar that I ordered in November of 2012. Spring from Too Cute-icle was a polish I won from a banner contest that the creator, Jess, held on her Facebook page. And In Bloom from Color Club is a lucky find from Ross. The white isn't an untried, but is Sinful Colors Snow Me White.

Three untried polishes used and an adorable design to show them off. I'm so glad I found this challenge! And on to the next one!

Thank yous and a Giveaway

Some of my readers might remember my not so great review of my experience with +Nail Art Society. I was extremely frustrated and let down with my experience.  With that said, I cancelled my subscription and vented here on the blog. To my surprise I was contacted by Tia, the founder of Nail Art Society. Tia had stumbled upon my review on my blog and apologized about what happened and wanted to take steps in trying to better my opinion of her company. I was incredibly moved by Tia's gestures and welcomed her attempts to repair my thoughts about Nail Art Society. To my surprise Tia really out did herself by sending me a large box of goodies along with a very sweet hand written letter. Of course a nail addict receiving a box full of nail supplies is exciting, but what was truly exciting was the letter Tia took the time to write to me. I was so touched and want to thank you again Tia.

Because Tia was so generous, and sent so many neat nail art supplies, I wanted to share some with my readers. So I am excited to be having my first giveaway! There will be three winner! All three winners will win one, six piece Nail Art Society kit!
