Easter Nail Challenge - Day One: Grass/Flowers

Yay! Two posts in a row! Just teasing. Today is the start of a fun Easter Nail Challenge thought up by Corrinne over at Galactic Lacquer. Everyone is welcome to join in the fun. It's obviously an Easter themed challenge and it's a short challenge so that makes it even more appealing.

I finished my attempt of hand painting the tulips last night and added the stripes this morning. I was bummed when I added my top coat because it smeared my tulips even after drying over night. And as you guys know, when I'm not super happy with the manicure I only give you one picture to look at.

Here is the rundown of the rest of the challenge and I'm happy to be moving along and seeing what other come up with.

Since I only showered one picture I've included links to some of the other entries for today.

Fun with Pastels

I've been feeling really awful about neglecting my nails and my blog. With that said I told myself to get it together and get back to what I love doing. So I re-created a simple but Spring, appropriate manicure to motivate me back into doing my nail art.

I wish I could find the original poster of this design to give her credit. They are so simple but so cute! Here is my inspiration.

Close...but I need some dotting practice ;)

Julie G - Frosted Gumdrop Collection (Part One)

I'm very excited to show everyone some of Julie G's Frosted Gumdrop Collection. I pre-ordered this yummy collection from Julie's website Jesse's Girl Cosmetics for $20.01. A price I felt was extremely affordable for a new collection containing six polishes. This collection is right on trend with the sand and pixie polishes carried by O.P.I and Zoya. The even better news is that Julie G's polishes are sold at Rite Aide for $3.99 where O.P.I and Zoya are $9 each.

The whole Frosted Gumdrop collection has great formula and vibrant colors. All of these polishes are nearly one coaters, which is always nice when it comes to removal. The roughness of the polish is subtle and just right for the look you're trying to achieve.

Blueberry Fizz

Sugar Rush

I really like these polishes. I have swatched the remaining colors of the collection but for some reason the pictures do not want to transfer to my computer. So tomorrow, while off from work, I plan on trying to get them posted, or redo swatches. Stay tuned.

Sunset Gradient Chevrons

Hi all. I have a quick post for you showing you my sunset gradient, I love gradients and love using tape. Soooo ta-da!

I really love these three colors together. Looking at it, it makes me think of fun and happy things. The gradient on my pink is my favorite. It looks perfect to me. Please ignore my tip wear, this manicure was two days old by the time I got to take photos, and I really slacked on hydrating my hands.

Do certain colors make you feel a certain way or think of certain things? What is your favorite colors to use for gradients?

Colors Used
Sinful Colors - Snow Me White
Sinful Colors - Cotton Candy
Zoya - Pippa
Wet N Wild - Sunny Side Up

February Nail Polish Haul

As I had mentioned in a previous post, February was an amazing nail polish month for me. Between buying polishes, winning giveaways and an amazing coupon clipping adoptive mom who likes to spoil me, I hit the jackpot. In February I believe I gained sixty-four new nail polishes. Honestly it could be more than sixty-four, but I can't remember when I bought three Kleancolor mini sets, and since I'm not sure, I'm not including them in this haul. I have to admit I went a bit overboard. But it's polish and well worth it!

Pixie Pink, Black Tie Optional, Gummy Green, Party Central

Sugar N Spice, Candy Coated, Sweet Nothing, Cotton Candy, Unicorn,  Sweet Tooth
Lush Life, Show Stopping, Star Dust, Bombshell
Fantasy, After Party, In the Spotlight, Paparazzi
Pet my Peacock, Shrimp on the Barbie, Trust Fund Baby, Papa-Paparazzi, Shuffle the Deck
Ants in my Pants, Cougar Attack, My Saturn Broke Down, Jewelry Heist, Show me the Money
Eternal Beauty, Kismet, Cloud Nine, Blue Heaven
Backstage Pass, Miss Bliss, Cosmic Fate, Over the Moon
Eileen, Evangeline, Lucy, Chelsea, Lauren, Kathleen
Girly, Ritzy, Heavenly
Onyx Rock, Shooting Star, White Veil, Ring-a-Ding!
Confections of a Bake-aholic, Chip on Your Shoulder, Gimme Some Suga',  Frosted Over
Hidden Hideaway, Remember Me, Friday Nite party, Black Rose, Mystery Woman
Snow Day, Brown Sparkles, Behave Yourself
Make a Spectacle, Cast a Spell, Glitter Goblin

Talk about wow! I need to grow more fingers so I can try more of these polishes ;)
Out of the collections/polishes I have tried, the Color Club holographic polishes are my favorite. Sinful Colors' Sugar Rush collection would be my second favorite. I just love pretty pastel colors and the names of each polish defiantly hit home for me. I'll try to try my new polishes as fast as possible. Has anyone picked out some of these polishes? What are your favorites? What the most nail polish you've bought in one month?

Pastel Stripes

February was an amazing nail polish month for me. (Haul coming soon) I got some many polishes in February it's hard to pick just one polish to wear. I've also been trying to do more nail art. So in combination with lots of polish choices and wanting to do nail art I came up with the following pastel stripes.

I like the way this manicure came out. It wasn't too time consuming and let me use several of my new colors.
What does everyone think? Do you think one stripe pattern is better or like the mixture of patterns?

Colors Used
Sinful Colors - Sugar N Spice (Pink)
Sinful Colors - Unicorn (Yellow)
Sinful Colors - Candy Coated (Purple)
Pure Ice - Twinkle (Orange)
Kleancolor - Lake Mist (Blue)

Julep Maven Box - March

There really isn't anything better than nail mail. I just recently became a Julep Maven, and I'm truly loving it. I received the March box today and am excited to share it with you.

This is the outside of the Maven box. What treasures are hidden inside?

As soon as you open the maven box all of these pretty spring colors greet you.

Pulling back the pretty blue tissue paper, you unveil Julep's new Rock Star Hand Creme, wrapped nail polish and a yummy new lip balm. I am most excited about the new hand creme.

I'm even in love with the packaging of this new hand creme.

With a perfect twist open and close cap this is perfect for girls on the go, and should be spill proof in your purse. Full of anti-aging ingredients and packed full of vitamins and other great skin hydrating ingredients.

I'm always in need of a good lip balm. I always lose mine and I'm looking forward to this being my new favorite.

This adorable little wrapped bag hides my new nail goodies.

Here are the nail polishes. On top we have a a smokey taupe, and below we have an opalescent lilac polish.

Their names are Debra and Simone.

This is everything included in my Classic with a Twist maven box. I look forward to using my new colors and hope to have swatches for everyone very soon. What do you think of this months' box? Do you like what arrived in Maven box?
